Owner Frequently Asked Questions

Read below for frequently asked questions and to help troubleshoot your problems.

Q:        I have an owner account on GlobalVetLink and I cannot remember my user name and password?

A:        Contact GlobalVetLink at 515-296-3779 and we can give you your user name and we can reset your password for you. Your password is encrypted, so we cannot see it.  Your password must be at lest 7 characters long and contain a number AND a special character (i.e. $, !, *).  We also have a password recovery option on the home page.

Q:        I am trying to create a user account and I don’t see where I’ve been issued a temporary password.

A:        When you begin the registration process, you will enter your e-mail address and hit “register”.  You will then be issued your temporary password.  You will need to scroll down the page to see your temporary password, which will be in RED.  At the same time you hit “register” you will be sent an e-mail that has a link to complete your registration process.

Tips for setting up your user name and password:

User Name:  Keep it simple (i.e. maybe a first or last name only)

Password:    This must be at least 7 characters long and contain a number and a special character (i.e. firstname1!)

Q:        I received an e-mail from my vet that my coggins certificates were ready, but there isn’t anything in my in box.

A:        In order to retrieve your coggins, you must log onto www.globalvetlink.com and enter your user name and password.  Click on “certificates” on the left and then click “view certificates” to view and print your coggins.  If your in box is “empty”, please contact your veterinarian to find out if your coggins have been completed.

Q:        I cannot open my coggins from “view certificates”, I get a blank screen.

A:        You must have Adobe Reader on your computer to open and print your certificates.  The latest version of Adobe is at least 9.0.  If you have a much older version, you will not be able to open your certificates.  This is a free download at www.adobe.com.

Q:        When I go to create an account on GlobalVetLink, it does not recognize my e-mail address.

A:        In order to set up an owner account, your veterinarian must enter your exact e-mail address into our system under your “owner profile”.  If your vet does not have your e-mail address entered, our system will not permit you to set up your owner account.  If the e-mail address is not correct, you will also receive the same error message.

Q:        I could not remember my user name and password, so I set up another account.  I do not see my coggins in my “view certificates”.  It says “empty”.

A:        If you create more than one account and you see that you do not have certificates available, chances are you are looking in the account that does not have your coggins.  Each account that is created has its own user name and password.  Please try to avoid creating another account.  If you are not sure if you have created an account, please contact our customer support team at 515-296-3779.

Q:        I started the registration process to set up my owner account and when I get an e-mail with the link to click on, nothing happens.  I tried clicking on this and it doesn’t do anything.

A:        Our system is most compatible with Firefox and Internet Explorer.  (i.e. Netscape will not work).  You need to download either browser on your computer in order to complete the registration process.
