Dr. Kirsten Frederickson, Veterinarian
Dr. Kirsten Frederickson has been practicing with Sunrise Equine since she graduated from the University of Minnesota-College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. Dr. Frederickson took over ownership of Sunrise Equine in 2012. Dr. Kirsten owns a Percheron/Morgan gelding named Bachelor. In addition to spending time with her horse, Dr. Kirsten enjoys spending time at the gym, playing with her two dogs, and vacationing with her husband and teenage son. Dr. Kirsten has taken a special interest in lameness, podiatry and chiropractic.
Dr. Michelle Wiberg, Veterinarian
Dr. Michelle Wiberg has been an associate equine veterinarian with Sunrise Equine since early 2013. She graduated from the University of Minnesota-College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012 and completed a 1 year internship with Stillwater Equine following graduation. Dr. Michelle owns two Arabians and boards two others on her small hobby farm in North Branch. Dr. Michelle enjoys riding and showing her horses at local Arabian and open shows as well as trail riding. Her and her husband own a German Shorthair Pointer that her husband hunts and Michelle shows in AKC events. Dr. Michelle enjoys all aspects of equine veterinary medicine and surgery.
Dr. Megan McGaver, Veterinarian
Dr. Megan McGaver has been an associate equine veterinarian with Sunrise Equine since July of 2016. Dr. Megan graduated from the University of Minnesota- College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 and completed a yearlong equine internship at Wisconsin Equine Clinic and Hospital. Her special interests include: lameness, dentistry, ophthalmology, internal medicine, geriatric care, and preventative medicine. In Dr. Megan’s spare time she enjoys spending time outdoors doing activities like running, camping, and cross- country skiing. She also enjoys trail riding her old show horse Sundance.
Jeremy Frederickson, Practice manager, Technician
Jeremy Frederickson joined the Sunrise team in early 2013. He has taken on the many rolls including practice manager, laboratory technician, veterinary assistant, and grounds keeper. In his free time Jeremy enjoys fishing, hunting, and spending time with his dog “Dude” and wife. In this picture, Jeremy is giving one of our larger patients “a shoulder to lean on".
Desirae, Office Manager-Receptionist
Desirae started with Sunrise Equine in July 2014 as a full time receptionist. She graduated in 2007 with an Associates of Applied Science degree. She lives in Sunrise Township with her husband, four children, dogs, cats, and chickens. Desirae decided it was time to get out and find a career. Between her love for horses and opportunity, it landed her here at Sunrise Equine. Her favorite things to do are travel, snowmobiling, camping, four wheeling, fishing and boating!
Robyn, Lab tech, receptionist
Robyn has been with Sunrise Equine since February 2008 as a part-time receptionist. She has an AAS degree and works full-time as a lab tech at a hospital, but she loves horses and her work here at Sunrise Equine so she mainly works Saturdays and fills in when she's able. She enjoys spending time with her young son and extended family, being outside, and trail riding with her horse.
Ariel, Veterinary Assistant
Ariel has been a veterinary assistant with Sunrise Equine since March of 2016. She plans to finish her vet tech degree at MSB in Blaine. Ariel has been a big member in the 4H horse project for 9 years now and has competed many times down at state for Isanti County drill team and games. In her free time she enjoys hunting, fishing, snowboarding, and riding horses at game shows and on the trails. She has a black Quarter Horse/Arab mixed mare named Baby and an Appaloosa grulla mare named Cowgirl.
Elizabeth, Veterinary Assistant
Elizabeth Started working with Sunrise Equine as an assistant in March 2016 but has been cleaning the barn and stalls since 2012. She has been around horses all of her life and has several of her own. She attended the MN horse training academy and does a little training on the side.
Mackenzie, Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant
Mackenzie started with Sunrise Equine in June 2016 as a part time receptionist. She is currently enrolled in online college for her veterinary technician degree. She has always had a passion for animals, especially horses, so when the opportunity came up it was a no-brainer! In her free time she enjoys hunting, being outdoors, and hanging out with friends. She enjoys trail riding her 2 Kentucky Mountain geldings.
